Identities in Flux

Identities in Flux offers a look at identity changes in the context of the processes of democratization and globalization on three levels. The first level is philosophical and is devoted to the themes of history, historiography, and memory, as well as the question of vulnerability and of identity itself. The second level focuses on the social and political context of the processes designed to address the past and transitional justice. It tackles the questions of shame, guilt, forgiveness and the possibility of rapprochement in the future. The third part of the book analyzes the trans-national linkages of shifting identities, especially within the framework of post-coloniality and international security. Authors of this publication hail from the fields of philosophy, political science, international relations and from four continents, including the countries of Central Europe, Africa, Japan, and the United States. Kniha Identities in Flux sa zaoberá tromi rovinami premien identít v kontexte demokratizačných a globalizačných procesov. Prvá rovina je filozofická a rozoberá témy histórie, historiografie a pamäti, otázku identity a zraniteľnosti. Druhá rovina sa týka tranzičnej spravodlivosti, mechanizmov vysporiadania sa s minulosťou a ich politickou rovinou. Rozoberá otázky viny, hanby a odpustenia v týchto procesoch, ako i možnosti zmierenia [rapprochement] do budúcnosti. Tretia časť knihy skúma medzinárodné súvislosti meniacich sa identít a to predovšetkým v rámci postkoloniality a pociťovaných bezpečnostných hrozieb. Autori publikácie sú odborníci z oblastí filozofie, politológie a medzinárodných vzťahov, pochádzajú zo štyroch kontinentov z krajín Strednej Európy, Afriky, Japonska a USA.
